2 Hour Horse Drawn Carriage Wine Tasting and Lunch Trail

Tsitsikamma

Activity Description

Enjoy a fun and informative wine tasting and lunch horse drawn carriage trail between Kay and Monty and Lodestone Wine Estates. On arrival at Kay and Monty, sip a welcoming glass of Champu Sparkling Wine before boarding our vintage carriage drawn by two magnificent Percheron rescue draft horses. Meander down a scenic country lane between the two wine estates, flanked by vineyards and polo fields at the foot of the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Once at Lodestone, savour locally grown and produced wine, olives, olive oil and Honeybush iced tea before learning about their wine making in a short cellar tour. Savour the fresh air and festive atmosphere on our carriage as the horses trot back to Kay and Monty where a delectable set tappas platter is served on the restaurant deck overlooking the vineyards and paddocks of the magnificent Rondebosh Farm.

Customer Reviews

The most fantastic experience!! Most friendly staff and excellent service!! - Desmond Swart

We had awesome fun a really great experience it was our anniversary so my wife really enjoyed it thanks you for the attention to detail.. Thanks to our so bubbly tour guide she was just great Buks was her name bless her for blowing my wife away with the wonderful experience. - Joas Tau

Disappointed by the experience. The other wine farm we visited was closed and we had to wait for it to be opened. We had 2 small tastings of wine and when we returned to Kay and Monty's we had just one taste and that had to be the wine that we would have a glass of with our lunch. Not really a wine tasting experience and poor value for money - Janet Fuller

Our Canadian cousins and ourselves enjoyed the experience. Buks was very good. Please warn the guests on Sundays that the first vine tasting is closed and guests can't buy their wines. Secondly it's best to ask guests first whether they eat meat... To allow for them. We wanted to meet the donkey foal Buks told us about. It would be great to taste more wines at the luncheon. Thank you - Debbie Ralph
